Education is health to the mind

Education is health to the mind

Education is the cornerstone of progress, the catalyst for change, and the gateway to opportunity. It empowers individuals, transforms societies, and shapes the future of our world. At its core, education is not just about acquiring knowledge; it's about fostering critical thinking, nurturing creativity, and instilling values that guide us through life's complexities.

In today's rapidly evolving global landscape, the importance of education cannot be overstated. It equips individuals with the skills they need to navigate a world increasingly driven by technology and innovation. From mastering the fundamentals or reading and mathematics to embracing the complexities of science and humanities, education opens doors to endless possibilities.

Beyond personal growth, education plays a pivotal role in promoting social cohesion and economic development. It empowers marginalized communities, breaks the cycle of poverty, and fosters inclusive societies where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. Education is not just a privilege; it's a fundamental human right that should be accessible to all, regardless of background or circumstance.

Moreover, education serves as a bulwark against ignorance, prejudice, and intolerance. By promoting understanding, empathy and respect for diversity, it lays the foundation of a more just and harmonious world. In an age where misinformation spreads like wildfire and polarization threatens to tear societies apart, education serves as a beacon of enlightenment and reason.

As we look to the future, the importance of education will only continue to grow. It will be the key to addressing pressing global challenges, from climate change and poverty to inequality and conflict; it's an investment in the collective well-being of humanity.

To conclude, education is no t merely a means to an end; it's a journey of self-discovery, a path to empowerment, and a force for positive change. It is the foundation upon which we build our dreams, shape our destinies, and strive for a better tomorrow. Embracing the transformative power of education is essential if we are to create a world where every individual has the opportunity to reach their full potential and contribute to the common good.

Thankful

Thankful
November 22, 2018

I am feeling grateful today. Found these beautiful quotes.
1. “I would maintain that thanks are the highest form of thought, and that gratitude is happiness doubled by wonder.” —Gilbert K. Chesterton
2. “Gratitude is the healthiest of all human emotions. The more you express gratitude for what you have, the more likely you will have even more to express gratitude for.” —Zig Ziglar
3. “Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while you pursue all that you want.” —Jim Rohn
4. “Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.” —Oprah Winfrey
5. “ ‘Thank you’ is the best prayer that anyone could say. I say that one a lot. Thank you expresses extreme gratitude, humility, understanding.” —Alice Walker
6. “Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” —Henri Frederic Amiel
7. “Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.” —Robert Brault
8. “Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it.” —William Arthur Ward
9. “The way to develop the best that is in a person is by appreciation and encouragement.” —Charles Schwab
10. “When I started counting my blessings, my whole life turned around.” —Willie Nelson
11. “The roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.” —Dalai Lama
12. “There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” —Albert Einstein
13. “Reflect upon your present blessings, of which every man has plenty; not on your past misfortunes, of which all men have some.” —Charles Dickens
14. “None is more impoverished than the one who has no gratitude. Gratitude is a currency that we can mint for ourselves, and spend without fear of bankruptcy.” —Fred De Witt Van Amburgh
15. “Some people grumble that roses have thorns; I am grateful that thorns have roses.” —Alphonse Karr

Prohibido Besar

Prohibido Besar

Moenia is one of my favorite Mexican bands. Ever since I discovered them I got hooked on them, 44 year old Alfonso Pichardo, the lead singer of the band has one of the most charming voices. A few years ago I was fortunate enough to go to one of their concerts. Sometimes when I´m driving, I listen to their music when I am not praying.

Moenia

Quiero disimular lo que estoy sintiendo
Nadie debe saber que me estoy rompiendo
Por dentro, lenguaje corporal que ya no coincide
Con el deseo primario pide
Puedo mirar, te puedo hablar
Y hasta puedo soñarte
amor
Tal vez tocar, puede pasar
Pero esta prohibido besarte
Puedo mirar, te puedo hablar
Y hasta puedo soñarte amor
Tal vez tocar, puede pasar
Pero esta, prohibido besarte
Pasar tantos tiempos juntos
Me pone muy mal
Y que es un peligro
Tú forma natural
En otro universo esto podría funcionar
Pero aquí y ahora yo no me puedo arriesgar
Puedo mirar, te puedo hablar
Y hasta puedo soñarte amor
Tal vez tocar, puede pasar
Pero esta… prohibido besarte
Puedo mirar, te puedo hablar
Y hasta puedo soñarte amor
Tal vez…

It is NEVER too late!

It is NEVER too late!
May 1, 2017

At age 23, Oprah was fired from her first reporting job.
At age 24, Stephen King was working as a Janitor and living in a trailer.
At age 28, J.K. Rowling was a suicidal single parent living on welfare.
At age 30, Harrison Ford was a carpenter.
Vera Wang failed to make the Olympic figure skating team, didn't get the Editor-in Chief position at Vogue, and designed her first dress at 40.
Alan Rickman gave up his graphic design career to pursue acting at age 42.
Samuel L Jackson didn't get his first movie role until he was 46.
Morgan Freeman landed his first MAJOR movie role at 52.
Louise Hay didn't launch her publishing company, Hay House until she was 62.
If you haven’t found your dream career yet, it's not too late. You aren't a failure because you haven't found fame and fortune by the age of 30. Hell, it's OK if you don't even know what your dream career is yet.
Never tell yourself you're too old to make it.
Never tell yourself you missed your chance.
Never tell yourself that you aren't good enough.
Whatever you were born to do, You can still do it!

Clocks

The lights go out and I can't be saved
Tides that I tried to swim against
Have brought me down upon my knees
Oh I beg, I beg and plead, singing
Come out of the things unsaid
Shoot an apple off my head and a
Trouble that can't be named
A tiger's waiting to be tamed, singing

Confusion that never stops
The closing walls and the ticking clocks gonna
Come back and take you home
I could not stop, that you now know, singing
Come out upon my seas
Cursed missed opportunities am I
A part of the cure
Or am I part of the disease, singing
You are, you are
You are, you are
You are, you are
And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares
And nothing else compares
Home, home, where I wanted to go

I’ve lost that loving feeling

I’ve lost that loving feeling…
It is buried under a massive pile of debris
January 13, 2017
By: Gina Yoryet

Many people express how thankful they are during Thanksgiving. Since I don’t celebrate Thanksgiving, being grateful is something I include in my daily prayers.

I begin each day by being thankful for all these blessings
For having a healthy mind, spirit and soul
For having finally found the profession I was meant to accomplish
For having a loving and supporting family
For making it home safe and sound every day amidst so much brutality
For being surrounded by people who love me
For having role models to look up to
For being endowed with a powerful and dominant mind.
For having warm, healthy and exquisite meals at my table
For having friends who respect and look up to me
For having legs and feet to walk despite my never ending injury
For having hands and fingers that are guided by my mind to hang on to the writerly world
For the uncounted blessings I encounter on a daily basis
For not being addicted to anything that is detrimental to my health (other than eating excessively many times)
For having accomplished so much
For allowing God to always be by my side
For having two healthy eyes that can witness all the gifts of nature

Despite prior physical, emotional, financial, personal and other setbacks, I have prevailed. I am ready to tackle and conclude the projects I set last year with the according deadlines…
Today I am taking the first step to demolish that massive pile of debris to rescue the loving feeling for writing.
Now is the time to just do it!
